Some diners express concerns about busy times, especially on Sundays around 1 PM when the restaurant reaches full capacity. Reservations are highly encouraged during peak hours to avoid long waits, which can detract from the dining experience. A few guests mention that service can become rushed during the busiest shifts, leading to occasional delays in food and drink orders. While many love the cozy setting, some believe that the noise levels can be a bit high during live music nights, making it challenging to hold a conversation. Additionally, the popularity might mean less availability for last-minute walks-ins, especially on weekends.
Unbelievable special at £5.95. Food quality and portion sizes excellent. Had minestrone soup to start. Plenty of chunky veg and pasta in a peppery broth. Altonno pizza was fantastic - the bases here are amazing (right mix of crispy/ doughy). And ice cream with caramel sauce to finish. The complementary bruschetta which came with the starters, made it all the better. Wife had potato skins, quattro stagioni pizza and coffee which were all lovely.
My wife and I happened into this restaurant on a Sunday night not knowing what to expect. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like family. It has been one of the best nights of our 2 week trip around England to celebrate our 25-year anniversary. When we told the waitress about our anniversary, she came out with drinks and dessert and made us stand up for a round of applause from the guests. She made us Americans feel like family. For the quality of the meal and drinks, we were expecting something around $100. The total was $35. I honestly can't understand how they offer such quality in staffing, food, and ambiance at this price point. I only wish we were staying another night in town so that we could come back again. What a wonderful experience. We will always have a special place in our heart for her and this restaurant.
Had dinner here last night before going to the Playhouse. It was a superb experience from entering to leaving. We were greeted by Raz who made us feel extremely welcome and showed us to our seat and told us about the specials on the menu. After chatting with us suddenly a garlic & tomato bread arrived, courtesy of him. This was gratefully eaten with our glass of wine. I followed with the slow roasted belly pork, which was a generous piece served with fresh vege and roast potatoes. My sister had chicken GHW, chicken served in a delicious tomato sauce served with chips, proper chips too. Everything was cooked fresh and it was all delicious. I would certainly return when I’m in the area and can recommend you try this lovely restaurant. Well done to all.
Popped in for a drink and ended up working our way through the entire cocktail menu. They were all fantastic. Even made a couple of off menu ones at our request. Excellent service from the 2 girls working the bar. We will be back for food too as everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fab.
From the moment we got to the restaurant our large birthday party of mixed ages, lots of children too, were welcomed warmly, drinks order taken, free garlic bread/pizza for those of us who arrived early..lovely touch. Staff were very helpful and patient throughout our stay. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked steaks , chips, pasta orders taken and filled promptly. We were also given three very large sharing trays with Eton mess, various cakes, ice cream etc which were also complimentary ..to round off a lovely evening we were all given shots(those that weren't driving). Our first time, and we all said we would love to go back...would highly recommend this little gem with really good food and lovely staff...thank you very much everyone at the Glass House WhitleyBay 🎊🎂🥂😋
We went with family for the first time last night and the weather was a little inclement but straight away we were asked if we wanted to sit up the few stairs where it was nice and warm. Lovely thought. The staff were so friendly, the food beautiful and the complimentary cheese/tomato garlic bread was so nice. Will certainly be back thank you
Can't go wrong in here. Lunch menu is really well priced, dinner is absolutely gorgeous 😍steaks are beautiful & 3courses inc fillet steak for £20 cant go wrong. Im fussy with my steak as well & these are just as good as miler & carter. The desserts are worth a visit for on their own too. The tiramisu is lush & the staff have given us a goody bag of sweets as well on the way out! Very attentive & fresh, homecooked scran. Found our favourite local
